Activities that we access at Wear 1 Care ltd

We have an extremely pro-active and passionate staff team with the drive to provide a quality provision for all who access our service. All staff/volunteers have police DBS current. All staff have up-to-date training logs in place.

Wear 1 Care are currently running the following sessions that are available for individuals to access:

Jewellery Making

• News and views session

• Swimming

• Beauty Therapy

• Craft session with WEA

• Curling

• Walking and photography group

• Sole access to a community Gym (Tow Law)

• Sports session (fun based with mix of music, Jabadao and games)

• Cycle-ability at Chester-Le-Street Cricket Grounds

• Community access to library, town and market etc. (as and when needed)

• We have games tables such as pool, air hockey and Foosball on site

•Internet access for all, IPad and games stations

• Cookery and community support group (This group is at Witton-Le-Wear community centre)

• Gardening (This is seasonal for spring and summer months) we are developing a sensory garden at this time.

Summer months we will be using our own transport to visit the coast / Places of interest etc.

The following activities are due to start in the next few weeks:

• Cycling with our own bicycles along safe old railway paths

 

We are flexible with our approach to these activities due to our person centred approach and can change our schedule to suit individuals needs / requests.

 

 

 

Saturday Service

Wear 1 Care also provide a Saturday service. This is at present only running once a month but could increase with demand. We are open to discussion with individuals, care managers and social workers around this service. We have taken groups to York for the day, have Beamish tickets for all who access our service, Park visits, Theatre and places of interest , this is a pickup service from home at 9am approx. and drop off at 4-5pm. All Saturday services at present are self-funding, for prices please enquire.

 

 

Social Club

We are also providing an evening club for individuals, this started 09/06/16 and runs every week on a Thursday.

This service will be at a minimal cost of £1.50 for 2 hours on a Thursday evening consisting of games, pool tournaments, Cinema room/film groups, craft but mainly user defined. Food / Snacks are available upon request. Individuals to arrange own transport for this.
